Interviews

Rainer:
Susanne, I think you are somebody who known to the German wrestling scene since a very long time. What made you starting to wrestle and since when are you doing it?

Susanne: I began wrestling at 1994. It was luck that I tried it. I was curious of the charming voice on the phone.

Rainer: What are the positive differences between then and today?

Susanne: Today I know how to win! :-)

Rainer: What are the negative differences between then and today?

Susanne: At that time I did not know! :-)

Rainer: It is no secret that you really enjoy wrestling. What appeals to you, regarding our scene wrestling?

Susanne:
There were different phases. At the very beginning I was curious. I thought, I go there, win and that's it. But it was not that easy. To find the much smaller Lada from Vienna a hard nut to crack in my first DWW fight, was very annoying for me. Then the phase of ambition followed. The training with Gert was very successful, even at DWW I had my first victory. That was a great recognition. What looks quite harmless on a video, was in most cases very exciting for me. When I win, it's still this mixture of happiness and relief. Most wrestlers feel it that way, even those that look always as cool as possible.

Rainer: In private (there are only a few people on our website reading this :-) ): Do you have erotic feeling when you wrestle against another woman?

Susanne: Yes, that happened from time to time. I also tried something more, without camera and spectators. When I do real fights, where the victory is most important, I don't have any erotic feelings.

Rainer: How important is the sportive success, say victory?

Susanne: I always try to win. You never know what's going on. The rivalry is often big, especially if you don't know each other. Even if my opponent asked me for  protection, I was always careful. This was often just a pretence to hit me harder afterwards.

Rainer: How do you handle a defeat?

Susanne: A defeat is surely getting around and it is important to be able to loose. Somebody who never lost, has been classified wrongly. I see this cool and businesslike, we are not fighting for any important titles.
In practice things look different: In one of my first DWW fights I expected a good chance to win - as everybody around me did. But then things went wrong: My opponent got one point after the next against me. The fight was completely different from all the other fights I had so far and I could forget all my tactics that I wanted to use. In this moment I felt really bad, almost mortified. I avoided tediously to grumble that my opponent was not fair (what was not true!) and to meet my hubby, who might have criticised my mistakes. Wearing sun glasses I was sitting in the last row, crying silently for me, until somebody realized it and comforted me. That was great.
Just a few month ago I was irritated when I lost against Karina. I don't know why, because I won against her at least three times before. Immediately after the fight I slapped her on her butt and then it was OK for me. I did not cry this time. But I felt unhappy with this. We'll have to clarify this!

Rainer: How do you rate the chances of an untrained man against a good female wrestler in a mixed match?

Susanne: I have already seen big guys loosing pitifully. That is really possible, but the height and weight difference must not be too large. Regarding this I have realized that even those mixed wrestlers who met a hard challenge, were having difficulties to loose against a woman.

Rainer: Do you think that an untrained girl could have at once success against a top female wrestler or do you exclude this categorical?

Susanne:
No she would not have a chance. There are worlds between them. These big differences make it so hard to find a good classification of the fights.

Rainer: What do you think about men who pay a lot of money to see you and other girls wrestling?

Susanne: Alas, that is OK. The scene is organizing itself and that costs money. It must not be paid that much that girls start wrestling only because of the money, but without wanting to fight.

Rainer: Do you prefer pin-holds or submission-holds, i.e. do you like to lie or to sit on your opponent? Or do you prefer leg-scissors etc.?

Susanne: Depends on, what my opponent likes fewest. :-)

Rainer: What do you prefer: Pin-and-submission-wrestling, catfights or fun fights / erotic fights?

Susanne: For me it is pin-and-submission-wrestling. I hate it, if somebody is yanking my hair and that's why I don't make catfights. But there are a lot of women who want to fight that way and then it is OK.

Rainer: How do you take care about your fitness? Do you prepare for events/fights in a special manner? If yes, how?

Susanne: I'm doing fitness training, aerobic and jazz-dance more than 10 hours per week. Wrestling takes additional time. As preparation I watch old fights of myself, for the TAC trainer G. Is not too shocked, when I'm muddling up right and left at some certain wrestling moves (Remark of translator: Sorry the "fliegender Doppelausheber" is not translatable. If somebody knows the right English name for this move, please feel free to place it in this text.)

Rainer: Do you have an explanation for the success of TAC? Especially the feeling among the wrestlers is a phenomenon! The girls are taking to their jobs like a duck to water and all is full of harmony. Are there certain things where a producer has to take care?

Susanne: A good feeling and the right team is necessary. TAC is full of power. All 7 are idealists and do not want to earn money with this. This is good for our events and our wrestlers like that.

Rainer: You are distributing your videos also on the DWW website. What is the main goal of this co-operation?

Susanne: Continuity and a bigger variety for our scene. It makes no sense when in our small group of interests everybody starts at zero. That's why we thought very carefully what to offer with TAC and how this would include in the already available material. In this phase we talked to all big producers in our environment and checked out if it is possible to make something together. DWW was very open minded from the beginning. G.R. Just wanted to be sure, that TAC will not be away from the market, before somebody has realized that they are there. Nevertheless TAC is independent. We alone decide what we produce. Other producers denied our idea although the requirements where fulfilled, too. The more we are happy that our dream, to work together and not against each other, came true. This is a similar point of view as G.R. Has.

Rainer: We from CFW get every now and then questions when there will be a bigger event of the Amazon Club. What are your plans for the future?

Susanne: Our biggest event so far was in June 2005. Our visitors and we ourselves had a lot of fun. There are some ideas how we can continue this. To be honest, it is just a lack of money.  A happening of this size costs more money than you can get with the entrance fees. Sure, it is possible to make more money with nude fights, but TAC stands for topless and non-topless fights and we will find a solution for this.

Rainer: What do you think is the greatest difficulty for a female fight fan to out himself to his girl-friend /wife? Any suggestions?

Susanne: The hardest thing is to admit that the fan is interested in other women. By the way I think every man is looking after other women but on the street it is easier to hide than during a wrestling match. The wrestling should be no problem for the women, but can they be sure that is nothing more behind it? My hint for the outing: I would try it with frankness and honesty. Say yes to your preference. Maybe the wife is already sensing something (women have a good feeling!), so say it, before it appears to be a problem. Little steps can always be made. Who does not talk about it will not get anything. If there is no agreement possible it is still an option to make an arrangement: The one decides where to travel during the next vacation, the other is allowed to visit the TAC event before. :-)

Rainer: You are married with a female fight fan. Did your hubby already bother you with something of his fantasy?

Susanne: It takes a long time till I'm bothered.

Rainer: Did you already have a quarrel with another woman outside the blue mats?

Susanne: Yes. Years ago a bitch spit at me in the Underground, just like it happened to Karina (see posting in CFW from 24 July 2006). This is really disgusting and lukewarm. At that time I slapped her. I was really quick. :-) But afterwards the bitch was still standing, different from Karina.

Rainer: Susanne, last but not least a special question! You and your hubby are the best example for a relationship between a fan and a wrestler. Many fans are dreaming of such a thing. How big is the chance, that a fan meets a wrestler at an event and he relates with her?

Susanne: Hm, although it is unpopular, what I say: I do not know of one case where the relationship was the result of the wrestling. This is the wrong direction. First there is the relation then comes the preference. The preference may so very much important, life is even more important and here you have to live together. In best case the fighting is added to the life, as it is with me and K. But you must not expect full agreement. And whoever thinks, that you do not have to discuss and quarrel when you are able to wrestle each other, is on the wrong track.
